About This Lawyer

Teri Lynn Bougie joined the original Ahlstrom Wright in 1999. She received her law degree from the University of Alberta and has a preferred practice in general litigation and administrative law matters. As a member of the Alberta Bar since 1996, the Northwest Territories’ Bar since 2000, the Nunavut Bar since 2006, and the Yukon Bar since 2008, she devotes a good portion of her practice to those clients in the northern territories. Teri Lynn is an experienced counsel in Residential School claims and has assisted throughout negotiations for the Baxter National Class Action negotiations.

Teri Lynn has appeared before various administrative tribunals and all levels of court in Alberta, the NWT, and the Nunavut Court of Justice. She is an experienced counsel at Coroner’s inquests in the NWT and Alberta assisting clients in seeking standing before such inquests and, where necessary, commencing claims on behalf of the bereaved family members. These inquests are high profile and very divergent in nature. In 2006, Teri Lynn was responsible for having part of the Family Relief Act declared unconstitutional in Alberta. A proud supporter of Sherwood Park, she is a past president of the Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce (2007-2008). Teri Lynn is a member of Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice; she is on the Board of Directors of the Strathcona Community Hospital Foundation.
