SAFFRON Sexual Assault Centre Launches Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence

One Line is a province-wide central platform for sexual violence support that is sexual assault specialized; safe; confidential and accessible to individuals in all Alberta communities.

About Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence:

Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence offers talk, text and chat to people in all areas of Alberta who have been impacted by sexual violence. Individuals answering the line will have access to a customized community resource guide created by AASAS, using Inform Alberta, which has details about supports and services available in communities throughout the province.

SAFFRON’s One Line will launch on May 1, 2019 in recognition of Sexual Violence Awareness Month.

Alberta’s One Line for Sexual Violence Unveiling Event:

SAFFRON will be hosting their communities launch of One Line in combination with the AASAS  and other sexual assault centres across the province. We are inviting stakeholders, community partners, municipal government as well as all community members are invited to attend this launch. Refreshments will be available.

About the SAFFRON Sexual Assault Centre in Sherwood Park, Alberta:

SAFFRON Sexual Assault Centre’s mandate is to provide counselling services to anyone who has suffered from sexual assault, abuse and sexual violence, as well as those who have been affected by sexual assault (e.g. support persons, family members, etc., of someone who has experienced sexual assault) and also to provide proactive education regarding sexual assault, abuse and sexual violence to all individuals and to change attitudes, beliefs and myths surrounding sexual assault.
